Public Fire Paramedic Program Diploma (PFPP)

New for the 2024-2025 academic year, the Manitoba Emergency Services College will pilot the opportunity of single-track enrollment options. Apply for single track, one-year training to obtain a Fire Rescue Certificate or Primary Care Paramedic Certificate. Limited spots are available in both tracks with classes beginning in the Fall of 2024.

Students may also choose to earn a certificate in both tracks to receive a Public Fire Paramedic Program (PFPP) diploma.

The Manitoba Emergency Services College (MESC) is committed to providing superior training to meet the needs of today’s dynamic emergency services fields. The MESC is managed by the Province of Manitoba and is the sole provider of accredited training for firefighting and rescue in the region.

Unique to Manitoba, the Public Fire Paramedic Program (PFPP) program trains in Fire Fighting, Rescue, and Primary Care Paramedicine, as well as Community Education, leadership skills, and Mental Wellness training that is tailored to first responders. Our graduates are prepared for employment in many emergency services fields, including federal, provincial, and municipal emergency services, industrial safety, response teams, and private industry.

Through classroom study, hands-on learning, and clinical/practicum placements, students are involved in the operations of a working emergency services department and will learn skills using state-of-the-art facilities, equipment, and technologies. Scenario-based training and assessment over the length of the program allows students to build confidence in a demanding yet encouraging hands-on environment
